Erla Dögg Haraldsdóttir (born April 19, 1988) is an Icelandic swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. She is a 24-time Icelandic champion and holds 11 records in the same stroke. Haraldsdottir qualified for two swimming events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by clearing FINA B-standard entry times of 1:10.66 (100 m breaststroke) from the Mare Nostrum Arena International Meet in Canet-en-Roussillon, France, and 2:18.74 (200 m individual medley) from the Icelandic Championships in Reykjavík. In the 100 m breaststroke, she challenged seven other swimmers on the third heat, including three-time Olympian Smiljana Marinović of Croatia. She finished behind Brazil's Tatiane Sakemi in sixth place and fortieth overall by three hundredths of a second (0.03) in 1:11.78. The following day, Haraldsdottir took the fourth spot in heat one of the 200 m individual medley in 2:20.53, less than two seconds behind three-time Olympian Sherry Tsai of Hong Kong. Haraldsdottir failed to qualify for the semifinals, as she placed thirty-fifth overall in the preliminary heats. Haraldsdottir is a member of the swimming team, along with her compatriot Árni Már Árnason, for the Old Dominion Monarchs, and a graduate of civil engineering at the Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Haraldsdottir also became the first female swimmer to represent her university at the 2011 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, where she set her own personal record of 1:01.15 in the women's breaststroke. ==References==
